At EducareLab, we are so invested in education that we are making it a global goal. Our desire to serve students is at the heart of who we are – whether those students are in America, Africa or Asia.
Each time a student downloads our mobile app, we will help fund the education of an underprivileged child in Asia or Africa.
A recent report called “From Closed Books to Open Doors – West Africa’s Literacy Challenge,” found that of the 10 countries with the world’s lowest recorded adult literacy rates, seven are in West Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Sierra Leone.
The EFA Global Monitoring Report published by UNESCO states that 140 million adults in sub-Saharan Africa lack the basic learning tools to make informed decisions and participate fully in the development of their societies.
Regarding this last statistic, think about what that really means. 140 million adults in sub-Saharan Africa can’t fully participate in the betterment of their society because they are illiterate. Studies have shown that illiteracy is linked to poverty, sub-standard health care, and many other socio-economic problems. Just think – what if these adults had the opportunity to learn while they were still children?
If we can help even one child receive a better education, the world will be a better place. But we aren’t pledging to help just ONE child – with each and every paid app that a student downloads, we will help fund the education of a child in Africa or Asia by providing school supplies to children in need. And you, as the customer, have the opportunity to decide where your dollars go. Our customers are the benefactors of these underprivileged children. You can use your purchasing power to help a child in need. With your help, children in Africa and Asia who obviously have potential but not the needed facilities and supplies can realize their dreams.
We pledge to keep you updated on our goal of global education. Please subscribe to our newsletter and we will keep you updated.
